Greetings Devilians!Spring is upon us and the world of Nala has great things in store as the weather warms up. Since our last producer’s letter, Devilian got its first major update with “Fury of the Tempest.” Unleashing the brand new Tempest class in Devilian, as well as multiple new dungeons, an increased level cap to 54, challenging new Archdevil dungeons as well as the introduction of Devilian’s first 9-man raid dungeon “Tower of No Return.”The teams at both BlueholeGinno and Trion met in South Korea in March to discuss our roadmap for the next few months and I was really thrilled to see the same level of passion and enthusiasm that existed at launch is still there.

These were fun meetings, filled with hundreds of ideas about making the game better. Here’s a high level look at some of these cool new ideas, a bit about our upcoming spring event, and an overview of what our development priorities are in the near future.Spring Event and Demon ImpsThe spring event is coming soon and continues the love story between Antwan and Belle. Players who help Antwan out with his romance problems will earn some great spring themed rewards. There will also be new spring themed costumes available! The accompanying spring update also introduces some brand features to the game! Pet Fusion allows you to swap around pet abilities, putting the ability you want on the pet you want. Keep your eyes peeled as you explore the world - a new trickster monster named Demon Imps may appear. These carriers of gold and valuable materials spawn in random locations.

Once hit, you will have a limited amount of time to kill it before it explodes. Claim the kill before it all goes up in smoke and you’ll earn a huge reward!PvP ChangesWe’re also working with Bluehole Ginno to get more players into fun, competitive matches sooner. For the first change we’re lowering the level needed to join 20 vs 20 battles down to level 25. Remember: Low level players are bolstered when in PVP, so even if you’re level 25 you’ll be competitive in the battleground.Speaking of PVP, one of the reasons for long queues is the variety of gameplay modes we have in the game. Players who want to PVP are being split into multiple different game types, resulting in a match not filling as fast as it could be. To help this, we have changes coming to Depraved Temple (6 vs 6).

This battle will be moved to a weekly event and will not be accessible from the queue. A new icon will appear next to your health bar when Depraved Temple is available, and clicking this will automatically place you into a Depraved Temple match. We are also lowering the entry requirements to join this event.Mega ServersFinally I wanted to talk a bit about the big news that’s on everyone’s mind: Mega Servers. These are coming and the most important thing we want to be clear about is that we will only do them when we’re completely confident that it will be as smooth a transition as possible. When Mega Servers do occur, we will be migrating all characters to new server hardware.

After the transition, there will be one server for North America and one server for Europe. Each server will be able to spin up new channels and zone instances if the population in an area increases. We understand there are a lot of questions related to Mega Servers, but the biggest question is simply “When?” Unfortunately, that’s also the most complicated question. We are aiming to have this done before our next level cap increase update and are pushing to complete the work on this as fast as possible. There is a lot of work that needs to happen behind the scenes and it’s our top priority to keep your character data safe. We won’t have specific dates until we’ve made more progress here.

This is not a small task and will take more than a few weeks, but we want to make it happen as soon as possible. We’ll keep you updated with more info as we move forward with our plans!Last but not at all least, I want to thank you the community. Your great feedback, your comments in our forums and on social media, and the one-on-one discussions we’ve had with many of you inspire the team to make Devilian awesome.
