Monday -. Wednesday -Also did I mention we have a server? Just a heads up in case anyone missed it:Idea Fabrik PLC acquired the Science Fiction Sandbox MMORPG 'The Repopulation', a craft and combat game, from Above and Beyond Technologies, Inc. True, but how is that any different from all the alpha games on pc, ps4 and Xbox one like Astroneer, ARK, etc?Yes it's alpha, yes there is a chance it won't ever go anywhere. But I've been looking for exactly a game like this.$20 isn't very much, especially since that gets me access to the game now and some benefits later.I can give my opinions and input and possibly help shape the game rather than have an unfinished beta released that ends up having to have things changed immediately (looking at you Destiny). Many didn't pick that one up because they heard bad things at launch.Just think how No Man's Sky might have turned out differently if it had gone alpha look like this so they could get feedback and then release the promised product gradually, but getting it right! If you aren't interested then fine, but it is a good game for those who don't mind taking the risk.People shouldn't support these games until they have clearly shown that they can finish it (even ARK turned out. Games would do well to release finished or substantially featured or as consumers the market will go to shit soon.People will get the game when there are enough early adopters like yourself playing it and making it big. I wouldn't encourage anyone to play something that isn't finished; and if they would play it they'd already be doing so.There's enough free to play games and betas out there that the value proposition for this game is poor.

Once the devs have released something substantial then that would be a good time to 'take the risk'. Most FTP games are going to require you to pump money into them at some point. Usually somewhere to the tune of the $20 it cost me to but this one.I had done my research beforehand and decided that it had the features and gameplay I was looking for, which made it 'worth the risk'. I sat out Destiny because of the 'buggy' reviews at launch and sat out No Man's Sky for the same reasons.I bought Battlefront because some friends were playing it but regretted it pretty quick because of the lackluster playstyle and the lack of things to do. Since all of those games would have been about $60 ea, I find it pretty easy to part with $20 that I know what I am getting going in.The only way people are going to get the game because of early adopters 'like myself' is if we are letting them know about it, and encouraging them to get into it. From what I understand, for the most part the game is almost complete.Since it was recently acquired by another company, they are cleaning some things up and adding their own touches to it to make it a sustainable model. As well, I like the fact that I can help report issues or suggest gameplay improvements and make the game better.I recommend it to anyone who would normally throw money at something on KS or the like.

Wow, the amount of misinformation in these comments.ABT contacted IF to have them buy it, ABT dropped the ball. IF saw the amount of people that wanted to play it and brought it back up while still working on making it much better then it was from before.

The game was basically brought back from a 18 month sleep and the 10.1 patch will happen around the first week of May. Not a thing has changed from when it went down to when it came back up. People were asking to play it and wanted in so they put it back up on Steam, it still is NOT for sale on Hero eng.

Read some first before all the crap talk, I hope it does go well, lets give the new team and owners a chance, if they fail then yes I will be first person to shout out about how the game is a fail. Just my 2 cents. The entire management of this game is a clusterfuck. Game originally goes on steam EA. People buy it.

I buy it cause I wanted to see if I could get the Anarchy Online nostalgia. Idea Fabrik manages the multiplayer servers but runs into funding issues. The Repop is taken off steam cause people can't play the game. Repop devs make survival Rust clone but in SCI-FI format using Unreal 4 engine while they do a game engine conversion to Unreal 4. Now IF has money and decides the buyout The Repop? What the hell is going on?

I originally had EA access to the game many moons ago and still apparently can play it but with the way this game is being managed, I fully expect this game to go under.Trust me, I want this game to succeed as I had fun during the EA but I have my reservations based on what's happening.Funding issues -ABT Alpha Servers being shutoff -The Repopulation removed from Steam and Fragmented announced -IF acquires The Repop -. From what I've seen so far, you can level up any skill as high as you can.But you only level a skill you are using. So to level pistols you have to use a pistol. To level rifles you have to use a rifle.Crafting is similar to swg, and maybe even more in depth. You have to learn recipes through books you either earn as rewards or purchase from vendors.Even has dancing, musicians and storytelling as a way to give buffs to other players. Also no real cap on skills either, as far as I can tell.
